PTL takes a holistic approach to customer service and builds strong and lasting customer relationships. Staff are knowledgeable, well trained and customer focused. Most have been with the company for many years, enabling expertise to grow and providing continuity of contact for customers.
Protecting Customer Markets
PTL took a strategic decision some years ago to protect their customers’ businesses and not to target customers’ markets. As a result, PTL imports only raw products, rather than, for example, finished joinery products such as windows and doors.
High Stock Levels
Much of PTL’s stock is routinely held on site. The policy of holding significant stock levels is a direct response to the current market, where specifiers are increasingly sophisticated and demand swift access to supplies, while global supplies and deliveries become less and less predictable.
PTL supplies a range of certified timbers and timber products and seeks constantly to increase its stock of such timbers, as they become available. PTL is Chain of Custody certified and carries PEFC, FSC and other certified products.
PTL is developing a comprehensive range of certified temperate hardwoods and softwoods, whilst also stocking some certified tropical hardwood from the Far East and South America.

PTL staff members are trained to select against customer requirements (from available stocks) to minimise the customer’s waste. Customers are therefore encouraged to supply details of their finished sizes when placing orders with their PTL contact.
